About Me

Since I was a child, I have witnessed my father starting different businesses in industries such as food, hospitality, pharmacy, education, and real state. Even though I could work in those businesses, I have always been fascinated with the idea of starting my own. I cannot picture myself just taking care of something that someone else has done. I believe that I can start a business that I can identify with.

From a young age, I have been traveling with my family, friends, and by myself. I have been in more than 27 countries around the world by the age of 22. My goal is to visit at least 100 countries before age 35. I think that traveling has opened my mind on how businesses work. Growing up in Bolivia, a developing country, and watching well-established companies in other countries has increased my attention to details as well as my perception of customer service. After our trips, my family and I shared different points of view and came up with ideas to improve businesses. I was not only recognizing problems about companies, but I also developed an innate ability to see opportunities where others don’t.

I have been involved in different student organizations. As president of the Hispanic Organization of Latino Activities at Santa Fe College, I successfully demonstrated my teamwork and organizational skills. I needed to delegate functions among the students, so the work was distributed evenly. Under my leadership, I utilized those skills to organize more than 30 activities in one year including fundraising, social, and promotional events. I actively participated in the purchasing process, inventory procedures, and logistics in each event. Additionally, as the vice-president of the International Student Cultural Association, I have developed skills needed to interact with people from different backgrounds. My level of global awareness has increased after my study abroad programs in China, Germany, and Ukraine. I would like to be able to use those experiences to contribute in companies and in the community.
