In a meeting before my study abroad to China, I heard about the World Travelers student organization. Its goals are to promote international programs at Santa Fe and to raise money for future travelers. Students who went to China a year ago were part of the club, so they share their experiences and give us some tips for our future experience. Sharing time with these students allowed me to have a better experience in my China journey. Firsthand anecdotes were useful to know what to expect in my upcoming trip. Having previous knowledge about China enriched my experiences and gave me an incentive to be involved in activities related to it.

After being one entire semester in the club and thanks to my participation in two study abroad programs, I was elected secretary. I shared my experiences within the Santa Fe community to encourage students to enroll in international programs. As the secretary of the club, I found a great environment to improve my management skills. Along with the international department, we developed activities to create awareness about all the international opportunities offered at Santa Fe.

World Travelers

World Travelers' Website

With the vision of increasing the number of members in the club, I created a website to achieve World Travelers’ goal. The website had useful information for new students such as meeting time, future events, and a complete explanation and schedule of each study abroad program offered at Santa Fe. Additionally, the website has testimonies from travelers, so students can read their experiences before going abroad. In coordination with Paloma Rodriguez, advisor of the international department at Santa Fe, I addressed the website to the club goals and Santa Fe’s objectives.
